William P. Danielczyk

Senior Partner & Co-Founder

 

Mr. Danielczyk is a recognized leader in the healthcare and merchant banking sectors.  He has over twenty-five years of senior executive experience serving as a CEO and board member of both private and public companies.

 

Known as a serial entrepreneur, Mr. Danielczyk has started or has been an advisor to over 50 companies.  From 2001 to 2012, Mr. Danielczyk served as Chairman & CEO of Galen Capital Corporation (GCC); a diversified middle-market merchant banking and investment firm with a focus on healthcare and the defense sectors.  During his tenure at GCC, Mr. Danielczyk grew the firm from one to five offices and GCC became recognized as one of the leading middle market merchant banking firms in the country.

 

During his career, Mr. Danielczyk has participated in or completed over $500 million dollars of transactions on behalf of his companies and clients.  He has served as Executive Chairman of Innolog Holdings Corporation, a public Company in the defense industry. A board member of AcuNetx, Inc., a public company in the medical device industry. Chairman & CEO of Millennium of Health Communication, a leading healthcare internet company and as President & CEO of Ambulatory Healthcare Corporation of America (AHCA). At AHCA he helped build the company into a recognized leader of innovative outpatient healthcare services. Under Mr. Danielczyk’s leadership, AHCA became an Inc. 500 company.

 

Mr. Danielczyk has been an advisor on healthcare issues to government and industry leaders, as well as, serving on numerous board of directors of not-for-profit and charitable organizations.  He is an experienced speaker who has appeared at national conferences and has also made numerous radio and television appearances on the issue of healthcare reform and the merchant banking industry.

 

John Doulis

Senior Partner

Mr. Doulis is an M.B.B.S., receiving his M.D. from Monash University in Melbourne, Australia. Most recently, Mr. Doulis was the Senior Vice President of Clinical Solutions at First Data Bank (FDB) where he was responsible for the development of the clinical, clinical decision support, information technology, informatics and investment strategy.

 

Mr. Doulis is a Physician Executive with more than 20 years spent in designing, managing and perfecting information systems that support health and academic enterprises.  Previously, Mr. Doulis served as the Assistant Vice Chancellor for Health Affairs and COO of the Informatics Center at Vanderbilt University.  In this role, he was the single point of focus for the Informatics Center’s efforts to provide the most effective informatics and information technology infrastructure to meet the needs of the diverse operating units that make up Vanderbilt University Medical Center and Vanderbilt University.  As a practicing physician, he also focused on men’s health, the application of information technologies and the role of information sciences and technology in healthcare and biomedical science. 

 

During Mr. Doulis’ time within private equity/venture capital, he has funded over 15 portfolio companies. Within these funded companies, he has served as the CEO and President of Digichart, Inc. and more recently, CEO of Informatics Corporation of America, guiding both companies to a successful exit. Mr. Doulis also participated on the board of a number of his funded portfolio companies, including GenomOncology, Mindcare Solutions, Quire Inc. and Angel Eye Inc. where he served as a Director.

 

Dendy Young

Senior Advisor & Counselor

 

Dendy Young is the Senior Advisor and Counselor to IPCA and IPCA Fund I.  Mr. Young is the Managing Partner of McLean Capital, LLC, a family office based in Delaplane, VA, and is a founding member of Blu Venture Investors.

From January 1996 to 2006, Mr. Young was CEO of GTSI Corp. (NASDAQ: GTSI), a $1+ billion enterprise services and solutions provider. Prior to GTSI, Mr. Young served as Founder and Chief Executive Officer of Falcon Microsystems, Inc. and, before that, Falcon Systems, Inc.

Mr. Young serves on the Executive Committee of the Northern Virginia Technology Council (NVTC).  He is Chairman of the Board of Qlarion, Inc., which provides innovative business analytics to government, Saltenna LLC, which builds innovative antennas, Navanti Group, which delivers real-time insight into the economic, political, and security trends shaping our world, and eKare, Inc. which is a world leader in wound-care imaging.  He is on the board of Perthera Inc. which is commercializing a breakthrough in personalized medicine for patients with cancer.

Mr. Young lives in Delaplane, Virginia with his wife, Andrea, where they are building an environmentally-conscious, conservation farm. He holds a SB in Electrical Engineering and Computer Science from the Massachusetts Institute of Technology and an MBA from the Harvard Business School.

 

 

Harry R. Jacobson, M.D.
Senior Advisor


Dr. Jacobson serves as a senior advisor to Intrepid Phoenix. He is currently a co-founder to TriStar. Prior to co-founding TriStar, he was Vice Chancellor for Health Affairs at Vanderbilt University and the CEO of Vanderbilt University Medical Center (VUMC). VUMC consists of a medical school, nursing school and a healthcare system. During Dr. Jacobson’s 11+ year tenure, VUMC revenues grew from approximately $750 million to $2.5 billion.


During the course of his career, Dr. Jacobson has been a successful investor and entrepreneur, having founded or co-founded eight companies, including Contact Software (the developer of Act!, the world’s leading contact management software), which was acquired by Symantec, Renal Care Group, a leading dialysis service company, acquired by Fresenius Medical Care, Ambulatory Services of America, a diversified outpatient ancillary services provider of dialysis and radiation oncology services, and CeloNova Biosciences, a medical device company with two CE-approved and one FDA-approved products.


Dr. Jacobson has been both a formal and informal advisor to several ventures and private equity funds. He previously served on the Board of Directors of Merck & Company, Inc. (MRK: NYSE) and is also a past chair of the Nashville Health Care Council Board of Directors. Currently, Dr. Jacobson serves on the Boards of Ingram Industries and SpecialtyCare Inc., as well as several other healthcare companies. In 2002 he was named the Ernst and Young Southeast Entrepreneur of the Year and was recently ranked No. 35 on Modern Physician’s ranking of the 50 Most Powerful Physician Executives in Healthcare.

 

 

Carlo Medici

Senior Advisor

 

Carlo Medici serves as a senior advisor to Intrepid Phoenix. Mr. Medici is the CEO of Alzeca. He has over 30 years of experience in executive roles in the pharmaceutical, diagnostic, and medical devices industry.  

 

More recently, he was CEO at Bellco where he was responsible for the definition and implementation of the strategic plan aimed at positioning the company as a leader in the dialysis worldwide market. Prior to this, he spent over 12 years at Bracco as CEO of Bracco Diagnostics Inc., a leader in the diagnostic imaging market (contrast agents for X-Ray/CT, MRI, and Ultrasound, radio tracers, and injector systems).  

 

In addition to the executive role for the North American market, he assumed a global role as head of commercial operations for Bracco Imaging, the parent company. In this capacity, he was responsible for all marketing, sales, and business development strategies, with sales in excess of $1 billion and a direct presence in North and most of South America, most of Europe and China, and indirect presence in rest of Europe, Japan and RoW through distributors and joint-ventures.  

 

During his tenure, Bracco dramatically increased its market share in the U.S. in both X-Ray/CT and MRI contrast agents. Prior experiences include Vice President of Clinical Trials and Corporate Vice President of Sales, Marketing and Customers Satisfaction at Covance and several roles at Hofmann-La Roche, including President of Roche Diagnostics where he led the launch of the PCR assays that transformed the in-vitro diagnostics market in the 90’s. Mr. Medici holds a BS degree in Chemistry and Pharmaceutical Technology.

 

 

Ian J. Reynolds, M.D., F.A.A.O.S.

Senior Advisor & Medical Director

 

Ian Reynolds is a Principal and Advisor at IPCA.  He advises the firm on medical and healthcare clients.  He is a board-certified Orthopedic surgeon who specializes in Spinal Surgery, Arthroscopic Surgery, and Total Joint Replacement.  He graduated from Indiana University of Medicine in 1974 and has completed his residency in orthopedics at Ochsner Foundation Hospital of New Orleans in 1980.  Since his residency, Dr. Reynolds has been helping the residents of Galveston and Harris County in Texas. Affiliated with over 10 medical foundations and societies, Dr. Reynolds dedicates himself to providing the best care possible, and always having the patient's best interest.  

 

Farzin Ferdowsi

Senior Advisor

 

 

 

Mr. Ferdowsi serves as a senior advisor to IPCA.  Farzin Ferdowsi has a long history of building successful franchises and serving in leadership roles in the banking and finance community in Middle Tennessee. He is Chief Executive Officer of Brentwood, Tennessee-based Management Resources Company. His commitment to community service includes participating on numerous corporate and nonprofit boards. He currently serves as a Board Member for the Taco Bell Foundation, Boys and Girls Club of Middle Tennessee, Community Foundation and the Vanderbilt Ingram Cancer Center Board of Overseers. He is a former Board Member for Nashville Alliance for Public Education, Goodwill Industries and TSU Foundation. He is also a Member of the Rotary Club of Nashville. He immigrated to the United States in 1965 and earned his Bachelor’s of Science degree in industrial and mechanical engineering from Kansas State University.

 

 

Carl Lavorata, D.D.S.

Senior Advisor & Co-CEO of Dental Technology Corporation

 

Dr. Carl E. Lavorata is a Senior Advisor and Partner of Intrepid Phoenix Capital Advisors. He has brought several products to final development and funding, and partners in the overall mission of quality control and product review.

 

He received his Bachelor of Arts degree from New York University in 1983.  There, he majored in Biology, where he played an integral part of a research project in Embryology, assisting a well-known research professor.  He also served as an officer in the Pierre Fauchard Pre-Dental Honor Society of NYU.  Dr. Lavorata received his Doctor of Dental Surgery degree from the prestigious Georgetown University School of Dentistry in 1987. And with so many out tours as part of its curriculum, his community dentistry spirit was developed.

 

Dr. Lavorata is a well-known leader in the dental field and continues to advance his dental and medical education.  He is the Founder and Director of Dental Technology Corporation. His practice in Smithtown, NY measures in the top ten percent in the U.S. with regards to quality and production.  He is an active member in the American Dental Association, the New York State Dental Association, the Suffolk County Dental Society, and the American Academy of Implant Dentistry. 

 

Dr. Lavorata is highly engaged in the dental field with regards to product development, practice management and capital funding.  He has assisted in evaluating and developing orthodontic appliances along with successfully attaining Intellectual Property (U.S. Patents).  He is well-known for his lectures both nationally and internationally.

 

Carly Bell

 

Ms. Bell coordinates IPCA's corporate communications and marketing efforts on behalf of the firm and IPCA's clients. She also coordinates the firm's investor relations program. Ms. Bell is a Digital Marketing Strategist who is the Founder and Co-Owner of Bellrae Marketing LLC

 

With a long history of successful marketing campaigns, Carly brings a wide array of knowledge to our team. Her marketing experience includes marketing strategy development, social media marketing, SEO, website development, and more. Carly combines all areas of her expertise to manage the successful digital marketing strategies for IPCA and IPCA companies.
